Pride Month 2023

As we enter the month of June, we come together to celebrate Pride Month—a vibrant and empowering occasion that reminds us of the significance of diversity, inclusivity, and acceptance. It is a time to honor the experiences, contributions, and rights of the gender expansive and affectional expansive populations. In today’s political climate, where progress can face obstacles, it is essential to recognize and uphold these values.

Pride Month serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing struggle for equality and the urgent need to create safe and affirming spaces for all individuals. Further, it is a time to reflect on and acknowledge the disproportionately high rates of depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and substance use that arise within these populations due to the impact of discrimination, social isolation, minority stress, and internalized stigma. By fostering a culture of empathy and inclusion, we can contribute to the well-being of these folks and work towards reducing the disparities they face.

At RBHN, we are committed to promoting an environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and free to express their authentic selves. We believe that embracing the unique identities and perspectives of our team members and clients enriches our community and strengthens our work.

During this Pride Month, we encourage all to actively engage in conversations and initiatives that motivate understanding, empathy, and solidarity within the pride communities. By acknowledging and supporting the experiences of our gender and affectional expansive colleagues, friends, family members, and clients, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a compassionate and inclusive society.

Let us remember that Pride Month is not only about celebration, but also about advocating for change. By embracing diversity and standing up for equality, we contribute to a more inclusive and accepting society, both within our organization and beyond. Thank you for joining us in recognizing the importance of Pride Month and supporting the gender expansive and affectional expansive communities. Together, we can create a world where all individuals are celebrated, valued, and empowered to live authentically.
